The Role & Expectations
As an Adult Social Worker, you work with vulnerable adults in your community - people with disabilities, mental health problems, older people, or those who are isolated - and help them get the right support. You listen to what they need, work out a plan together, and find services that help them live as safely and independently as possible.
You visit clients at home or in the office, assess what they need, and write a plan. You speak to family, doctors, care workers, and other services to make sure they all work together. Sometimes you have to speak up for clients if they are not getting what they deserve from other services. You keep careful records, go to meetings about your clients, and build trust with people through regular contact and honest conversations.
Daily Responsibilities
