Office Junior

An office junior is an entry-level role helping out across an office with admin, errands and basic tasks while learning the ropes. It suits keen, reliable school leavers who want to get into office work and are happy to start at the bottom and learn fast.

The Role & Expectations

The work is a bit of everything - filing, photocopying, answering the phone, sorting post, basic data entry and helping colleagues - so being willing, organised and quick to learn matters. It is a chance to see how an office works and prove yourself, so attitude and reliability count for a lot.

It is office-based with regular weekday hours, and pay commonly starts around the minimum or low end. The tasks can be routine, but it is a genuine first step, and showing initiative often leads to more responsibility quite quickly.

You can usually start straight from school with good GCSEs, or through a business administration apprenticeship that combines work with study. No degree is needed, and it is a common way into admin, finance, HR or office management careers.
