The Role & Expectations
As a Marketing, Sales and Advertising Director, you are in charge of how a company tells people about its products. You work out what customers want, come up with ideas for adverts and campaigns, and then lead your team to make them happen. You might run campaigns across the internet, on TV, in shops or in other places, and you use numbers and feedback to work out what actually works.
Your day-to-day job is leading a team of people who do marketing, design, sales and creative work. You decide how much money to spend and where to spend it. You look at what competitors are doing, keep track of what's working and what isn't, and change your plans based on what you learn. It's a mix of creative thinking and proper planning.
