The Role & Expectations
As a taxation expert, you help clients understand their tax obligations and find legal ways to pay less tax. You study their income, investments, and spending, work out what they owe, and tell them about deductions and allowances they might have missed.
You spend time preparing and checking tax forms to make sure they are correct and honest. You talk to clients about their finances and give advice - for example, how buying a property or setting up a business will change their tax bill. You keep up with new tax rules because they change regularly, and you represent clients if the tax office questions their return. The job needs attention to detail, good organization and the ability to explain complicated rules in a way people can understand.
