The Role & Expectations
As a Weight Loss Adviser, you help people understand how to eat better and move more, so they can reach a weight that feels good for them. You work one-on-one with clients and sometimes lead group sessions in gyms or community centres.
You'll meet with clients to find out what they eat, how active they are, and what gets in their way. You listen carefully, because everyone is different - some people struggle with sweet food, others with stress eating. You create a plan that works for their life, not just a plan from a book. You check in with them regularly, celebrate what's going well, and change things if they're not working. The job takes patience and kindness, because making changes to how you eat and exercise is hard. You need to know about nutrition and fitness, but just as important is believing in your clients and helping them believe in themselves.
