As an Asbestos Remover, you safely remove asbestos from buildings. Asbestos is a material that was used a lot in older buildings for insulation and fireproofing, but we now know it is dangerous to breathe in - it can cause serious lung disease. Your job is to get it out safely so people can live and work without that risk.
You work on building sites wearing protective gear - special suits, gloves and masks - and carefully take out asbestos materials, seal them in bags, and make sure they are disposed of properly according to the law. The work is physically demanding and requires focus and care, because one mistake could let dangerous dust escape. You follow strict procedures every time, record everything you do, and keep learning about new safety techniques. Daily Responsibilities
- Conduct site assessments to identify asbestos-containing materials.
