Bank and Post Office Clerks n.e.c.

Bank and Post Office Clerks help customers with their money every day. They handle deposits and withdrawals, answer questions about accounts, and make sure all the transactions are recorded correctly so that customers' money is safe and secure.

The Role & Expectations

As a Bank or Post Office Clerk, you are the person customers see when they come in to deposit money, withdraw cash, or ask questions about their account. You handle the transactions carefully, count cash, and check that everything balances at the end of the day.

You need to be friendly and patient with people, some of whom may be confused about banking or anxious about their money. You solve problems when things go wrong - like if a customer lost their card or doesn't understand a charge on their account. You work as part of a team, so if it is busy, everyone helps each other. The job requires accuracy and honesty, because mistakes with money affect real people's lives.
