Is this the only route?
This is the standard academic trajectory, but modern careers are highly flexible. You can often skip stages by entering the industry with an advanced qualification (like a Master's or PhD), or pivot sideways from a related discipline.
University Degree
Usually 3 to 4 years of full-time academic study, explicitly preparing you for the theoretical realities of the industry.
Junior Scaffolder
As a Junior Scaffolder, you will assist in the erection and dismantling of scaffolding under the supervision of experienced scaffolders, gaining hands-on experience and learning the ropes of the trade.
Mid-Level Scaffolder
In this role, you will take on more responsibility, managing small teams and ensuring that scaffolding is erected safely and efficiently, while also liaising with site management.
Senior Scaffolder/Rigger
As a Senior Scaffolder or Rigger, you will oversee large projects, design complex scaffolding solutions, and ensure compliance with all safety regulations, playing a key role in project success.
